Expert Advice: Can We Blog?

GPS World

Need help now? Wonder what the difference is between software radio, software-defined radio, and software receivers? Want to know how far you can go from the base station in your next stop-and-go kinematic survey to assure centimeter-level accuracy, or what relative and absolute antenna calibration parameters are, or how "geocentric" are the geocentric coordinates? Struggling with that pesky multipath or cycle slips, or need some affordable augmentation in GPS-challenged environment, since last time you lost half your kinematic data due to losses of lock?

You can find answers to these and many other GNSS-related questionsat GPS World’s Tech Talk, The Expert Blog for Industry Professionals.

These multiple web reference pages were recently redesigned as a blog to afford users better and faster access to information and to facilitate online discussion. Industry professionals and academics alike can exchange ideas about GPS and GNSS, the systems, receivers, and applications. Every month, three new blogs are posted by international experts, discussing various aspects of GPS/GNSS navigation. The posts can be prompted by the moderator, or can come as independent contributions from GNSS professionals, or in response to questions posted by users or sent to the GPS World editorial staff. Some blogs were inspired by desperate calls for help posted on Richard Langley’s CANSPACE (canspace@unb.ca).

The blogs cover a variety of relevant topics, and represent state-of-the-art information on GNSS technology, algorithms, and applications. Most are illustrated with diagrams, photos, and, yes, equations. In addition to a concise presentation of the topic, our contributors provide relevant references. You, too, may post your comments on the site and get involved in the dialog.

Posts are grouped under:

  • Algorithms and Methods
  • Augmentation & Assistance
  • Galileo
  • GPS Modernization
  • GPS Remote Sensing
  • Indoor Positioning
  • Integration with Other Technologies
  • Real-Time Kinematic
  • Receiver and Antenna Design
  • Signal Processing

If we don’t have your questions or expertise covered, let us know, and a new category can be created, as GNSS technology keeps progressing and expanding and the pool of applications and markets increases.

Bottom Line. If you have questions, we have answers! If they are not posted on our website yet, let us know, and we will quickly find the right experts to respond to your problems, questions, and concerns. If you are involved in GNSS projects, research and development, or education, you too can become one of our experts.

The new site design has a very clear layout and is easy to navigate. Discoverhow quickly and easily you can find relevant and up-to-date information.

Let's blog!
